Chopta is an unspoiled natural destination lying in the lap of the Uttarakhand Himalayas and offers views of the imposing Himalayan range. This kind of unique name is granted to Chopta due to its undulating green meadows and splendid Himalayan peaks. In winters, this region covers with layers of snow providing a majestic view to the onlookers.

Chopta Hill Station is located at an altitude of 2700 mts, in the Rudraprayag District of Uttarakhand State. This place is surrounded by dense forest and offers a majestic view of Snow Clad Himalayan Ranges and lush green meadows. Chopta region allows trekkers to spend a night under the shelter of stars in camps. There is even availability of lodges for trekkers. After spending a night in Chopta, trek proceeds to Tungnath Temple. This temple is the highest shive shrine in the world situated at an altitude of 3680 meters It is also the starting point of the trek to famous Tungnath Mandir (Panch Kedar Temple) and Chandrashila Summit. The Chopta region is rich in varied flora and fauna, with plenty of Rhododendron and Deodar trees all around.

Tungnath temple – Tungnath is the second temple of Panch Kedar and it is located in the Tungnath range of Rudraprayag District in Uttrakhand, India. It is the highest temple of Lord Shiva in the world, second is Kedarnath. Tungnath means Lord of the peaks and the mountains of Tungnath forms the Valleys of Mandakini and Alaknanda rivers. Tungnath Temple is located below the Chandrashila peak.

Deori Tal– This place is located on the roadway from Ukhimath to Gopeshwar. It is 2 km away from the small village called Sari village. The journey from the village to the lake is quite pleasant since you come across many fields and greenery with a cold breeze. The nature and view on the route are beautiful.

Chandrashila Trek- Chandrashila is the summit of the Chandranath Parbat on which the Tungnath temple of Panch Kedar is located. Chandrashila can be reached by a further 1.5 km trek from Tungnath, is situated at an elevation of 4,000 mts above sea level, and offers mesmerizing views of the grandeur of Himalayan ranges. A very wide range of snow-capped Himalayan peaks and valleys can be seen from the Chandrashila peak. Trishul, Nanda Devi, Chaukhamba Peaks, and other popular peaks are distinctly visible from Chandrashila. Nature has showered this picturesque spot with sheer bounteousness and it gives you a heavenly feeling.
