Haridwar is the gateway to the four pilgrimages Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand (Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath, and Kedarnath. Haridwar is an important pilgrimage city and municipality in the Haridwar District of Uttarakhand, India. Haridwar located in the foothills of the Himalayas represents the point where the Ganga reaches the plains.

Haridwar is also very popular among both foreign and indigenous tourists because of the different types of an alternative treatment facility that it provides. Haridwar, literally means ‘The gateway to the Gods, one of seven sacred cities of India lies 214 km northeast of Delhi, Haridwar is situated on a 3 km stretch of the banks of the Ganges River in the foothills of the Shivaliks. It is located on the right bank of river Ganga and from here the holy river spreads over the northern plains.

Haridwar Places of Attraction

Har ki Pauri – Har ki Pauri is supposedly the first place where Ganga touches plains, leaving behind the pristine ranges of the Himalayas. The ghat is also known as the Brahma Kund where you can see the stone which has an imprint of Lord Vishnu’s foot, as indicated by the name.

Mansa Devi Temple – Mansa Devi Temple or Bilwa Tirath in the holy city of Haridwar is believed to bestow blessings and fulfill every Mansa (wish) of its devotees. This is one of the five pilgrimage destinations or Panch Tirath of Haridwar. This temple is the apex of the Siddh Peeth triangle – Mansa Devi, Chandi Devi, and Maya Devi.

Chandi Devi Temple– Chandi Devi Temple is located in the holy city of Haridwar in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Chandi Devi Temple, Haridwar is located atop Neel Parvat on the eastern summit of Shivalik Hills, the southernmost mountain chain of the Himalayas. The temple is a site of major tourist attractions from all over the world. Chandi Devi Temple is highly preached by devotees and is one of high peethas which is regarded as a place of worship where the desires and wishes of the devotees get fulfilled.

Patanjali YogPeeth – The Yoga guru Baba Ramdev established Divya yoga mandir in Kripalu Bag Ashram situated in Haridwar in 1995, with the help of Acharya Karamveer and Acharya Balkrishna under the guidance of Swami Shankardev Ji. The main aim of the trust was popularizing yoga and Ayurvedic treatments in the whole world.
