Jageshwar Dham
Jageshwar is a Hindu pilgrimage town in Almora district, Uttarakhand, dedicated to Lord Shiva, located 36 km northeast of Almora, in Kumaun region. It is believed that Adi Shankaracharya visited Jageshwar and renovated and re-established many temples before leaving for Kedarnath. Jageshwar is situated at the height of around 1900 mt. above from sea level. The main temple in Jageshwar is devoted to Bal Jageshwar or Shiva the Child.
People from metro cities travel here to get themselves some relaxation from the hot and humid weather.
Festivals of Jageshwar Dham
Two main festivals associated with Shiva are celebrated here. One is, of course, Shivratri and the other is Shravan Maas or the Hindu month of Saavan that roughly falls from July to August.
Jageshwar is primarily famous for its temples and serene nature.
