A Destination for the Wanderlusts.
Ladakh is a relatively young landscape formed by four big mountain ranges – the Karakoram in the north and the Great Himalaya in the south, traversed by two other parallel chains, the Ladakh range, and the Zanskar range. Sitting at an altitude of about 9000 ft. and sheltered from the Indian monsoon rains by the Himalayan Mountains, this is a vast cold desert. The Leh Ladakh weather of cool summers and cold winters offers a welcome respite for people from the rest of the country, particularly during the hot summer. Also known as the “Land of high passes”, the Ladakh region lies in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in Northern India. It is one of the three divisions of Jammu and Kashmir – Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh. Leh and Kargil districts are the only districts of Ladakh region, the Leh district covering more than the entire eastern region of Jammu and Kashmir.
